The Missing Link in RTA Recovery: An Integrated Trauma Framework for the 21st Century
This paper introduces the Trauma Recovery Pathway Program (TRPP), developed through the Trauma Pain Support (TPS®) project. TRPP is a structured, evidence-informed model for long-term trauma recovery, shaped by personal experience and designed to meet the needs of survivors, clinicians, and systems alike. Now available as a public resource, this paper outlines the framework’s purpose, foundations, and early implementation outcomes.
ABSTRACT
In the aftermath of a road traffic accident (RTA), the recovery journey is often fragmented, unsupported, and confusing. While emergency care pathways are defined, what follows after discharge is an unstructured space, both for patients and for the systems meant to support them.
This white paper introduces the Trauma Recovery Pathway Program (TRPP™): a digital recovery framework developed directly from lived experience. Drawing on the personal journey of a survivor and informed by selected research and reference models, TPS offers a structured, trauma-informed response to the long-standing gaps in post-RTA care.
With digital modules tailored to NHS, private rehab, and return-to-work pathways, TPS is designed to improve outcomes beyond the clinical moment, by supporting the whole recovery process: emotional, social, and systemic.

Founder’s Note
As someone who’s lived through the aftermath of a serious road traffic accident, I know first-hand that survival is just the beginning. The weeks and months that follow are often isolating, unsupported, and full of invisible challenges, both emotional and practical.
TPS was created because I needed something like it, and it didn’t exist. There was no digital pathway, no joined-up recovery system, no one place that could hold space for healing. What I built is more than a digital tool; it’s a response to the gaps I lived, and that I know others live every day.
Today, I’m proud to offer TPS as a licensed, trauma-informed recovery framework for individuals, health systems, and workplace pathways. This journey began with survival, and evolved into a platform for change.
