This pathway is designed for organisations exploring the Trauma Pain Support (TPS) framework for the first time. The TPS framework was developed in response to a significant and often overlooked challenge in post-acute care for trauma patients, particularly those recovering from Road Traffic Accidents (RTAs). This challenge is the Post-Acute Trauma Continuity Gap (PATCG): a structural discontinuity that frequently emerges between acute discharge and the sustained, long-term recovery support patients require. The TPS framework serves as a structured continuity architecture, designed to bridge this gap and strengthen the connections between existing services, rather than replacing them.

At its core, TPS introduces the Post-Acute Trauma Support (PATS) Model™, which provides the clinical and operational blueprint for delivering continuous, evidence-informed care. This model is underpinned by governance and compliance standards, designed to align with established regulatory frameworks such as CQC and NICE, and to support integration with your organisation’s existing obligations.
